King Kong Company debut album *beware hijinx ahead

Have you seen King Kong Company live? If not, sort that out! If you have, then you will appreciate the fact that you can now let loose from the comfort of your own home as the Waterford Dance act have just released their debut self-titled album (released June 17th).

The Neil McLellan produced album is made to be played loud and proud. With plenty of Ska influenced tracks, some dance regulars, jazz infused numbers and for the sake of it the Prodigy inspired “Game Over” as well as a Faithless tribute on “Pol Pot Rock”. Expect copious amounts of beats, lashings of trumpet and don’t forget the bass. King Kong Company have been knocking around awhile, have infected your brain at some point and made your feet do funny things at a festival. And as the laugh out loud “Donkey Jaw” demonstrates, these lads have seen some things and are willing to tell you about it, over a smoke maybe. There are plenty of tongue in cheek moments as we would only expect from our favourite anarchists. But the album has gone beyond capturing King Kong Company at their liveliest live shows and shows the musical chops we suspected were hidden behind those masks.

Prepare to be thoroughly rocked.
