Review by Bobby Green
Somewhere between the alternative and mainstream is a place where some artists drown in their own dreary self-worth of trying to be a bit…. different. But when a band naturally walk that path because you just can’t pigeonhole their sound then we sometimes get glimpses of true beauty.
Third Smoke are a group of multi-instrumentalists from Dundalk that deliver a performance built on raucous gang vocals, sweat and the fluid swapping of instruments throughout. Their sound is full and glorious and the video for Maya (directed by Greg Corcoran and Steve Mac Devitt ) gives Third Smoke a visual presence of a quality their music deserves. Maya is the second release from their critically acclaimed EP ‘Maybe In Time’
Third Smoke play live in the main venue in Whelan’s on March 10th, Expect a live show built on controlled mayhem and precise vocal interplay. Tickets are on sale now from €12.
