Indiependence Music and Arts Festival fires its opening salvo for INDIE17, taking place August 4-6 with three stunning acts set to play Deer Farm, Mitchelstown, next summer. The Manic Street Preachers, The Coronas and Sigma are the first acts announced for the festival now in its 12th year in Cork.
The Manic Street Preachers make their very first appearance at Indiependence where they will hit the stage with their extensive twelve album back catelogue.
Four years since they last headlined INDIE, The Coronas return to a festival that they have long had a love for. The band’s latest album, The Long Way, has already achieved platinum sales, with a new album out in 2017.
Also announced to play INDIE17 are SIGMA (aka DJs Cam Edwards and Joe Lenzie). The UK drum n bass maestros have already sold over 3 million singles from their 2015 debut album Life.
Set in the foothills of the spectacular Galtee Mountains, INDIE has steadily grown in size since 2006 seeing the festival increase to a sold-out 10,000 capacity event in 2016,
In addition to some of the best Irish and international music acts, INDIE has brought a strong comedy, spoken word and dance line-up to Deer Farm and has recently added the INDIE VIP Garden and Mitchelstown Music Trail to a fantastic weekend.
Early Bird Tickets for INDIE16 sold out within 24 hours and fans will be happy to hear that subsequent ticket tiers will remain at 2016 prices meaning 3 Day Weekend Camping tickets will be €119 with VIP Indie Garden Upgrade €50
