The Bandon Music Festival is back this June bank holiday for its 18th year. Taking place in the West Cork town from Friday 30thMay to Sunday 1st June 2014, the Bandon Music Festival has grown organically into one of Ireland’s leading independent music events by attracting big name artists year after year. And 2014 is no exception!

On Saturday 31st May…Mundy brings his uniquely upbeat brand of folk-based pop-rock to the main stage. With hits like July, Mexico and Galway Girl, alongside new material, Mundy promises a great evening’s entertainment! He’ll be joined by the endearing simplicity of Dublin brothers Hudson Taylor. This up and coming duo’s debut EP ‘Battles’ shot straight to No.1 on iTunes and with critics and fans alike hotly tipping them for greatness.

On Sunday 1st June…it’s synthesizers at the ready…as Bandon goes electro with Le Galaxie. Ireland’s foremost electronic band promise to lift the mood and get you dancing like no other band can! This four-piece Dublin band have earned a five-star reputation for getting it right, time and again with recent ceiling-melting performances at the Electric Picnic and the Olympia. And they’ll be in great company as Kormac’s Big Band also takes to the main stage on Sunday! The multi-membered extension of the solo work of DJ Kormac, this band have been described by BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac as “the most bizarre set-up I’ve ever seen – but it really works”. Kormac’s 11-piece live band features turntables, a barbershop quartet (yes that’s right!), drums, double bass, trombone, clarinet, trumpet and banjo.
Tickets are on sale now from priced just €12 adult day pass/€20 adult weekend pass, €8 teenager day pass/€12 teenager weekend pass and accompanied Under 14’s are free. Tickets are also available from O’Farrell’s newsagents Bandon and from the festival box office on the night. Gates open at 6.30pm.
