Review by Robert Green

Deep Sky Objects come thundering back with the impressive ‘This City’s At War’ due for release March 12th. All of the qualities that made you fall in love with them are in in a full frontal assault, well, they are at war after all. For fear of sounding like a bore, I love the production again on this, it’s not often you get an alternative band that are so radio friendly with a bass sound that’ll make your balls vibrate.

There are elements of XTC / Smiths / Power Of Dreams about this single, and what elements to have. Its hook chorus will have you humming  for days, while the verses will stomp around your consciousness like an earworm wearing hobnail boots. There’s real depth to these guys and although their style doesn’t demand attention, their quality certainly keeps you watching the sky. 2018 promises to be another amazing year for alternative Irish music, Deep Sky Objects will make sure this genre has a bit of variation to it.
