Scottish-Irish Malcolm Urquhart is the foundation of Cork band The Lost Gecko who are launching their new EP Unphotographable this Friday, August 19th in Coughlan’s, Cork.
Coinciding with the launch of the Unphotographable EP The Lost Gecko have released a video for the single ‘C-Saw’. Directed by award winning animator Marc Corrigan utilising stop-motion against a green screen, the animations are then imposed over painted backgrounds. “Reality sucks // And I might just // Give up today // But it’s not my way” sings Urquhart over plucked guitar and arranged strings the soar towards the songs message. The charming animation depicts a journey, each of us has a different one, with our own failures and successes and memories.
The Unphotographical EP was recorded and produced by John Burke and Bobby Lee in Claycastle Studios in Youghal, Co. Cork, and includes musical performances by Burke and Lee, as well as violinist Orla Daly and guitarist Leo Mullane. The four track EP was produced after a successful FundIt campaign in 2014.
The Lost Gecko launch Unphotographical August 19th in Coughlans, Douglas Street, Cork at 9PM. Tickets are €10 and will include a copy of the EP.
