With the return of singer Colm McGuinness to the fold in 2015 Limerick’s Protobaby set about writing music and generally stirring things up.

Rejoining Tony Monahan, Bryan Ronan and Aidan Graham Protobaby released their second album “Cosmic Heart” April 1st, no joke! And displaying their sense of humour further they have released a video for the single “Popstars“. Directed, filmed and edited by Shane Serrano it shows the different stages, incarnations and evolution of a band from band room to stage and pretentiousness. I’m a sucker for deep rasping voices (see August Wells, Jack L etcetera) so Protobaby and “Popstars” was just the juice I needed to start my Monday morning.

“Cosmic Heart” released April 1st was produced and recorded by Tony Monahan, mixed by Mike Gavin at Even Audio, Limerick and mastered by Richard Dowling out of Wav Mastering, Limerick. The new album comes on special limited edition awesome looking blue vinyl and is available at Steamboat Records and HMV, Cresent Shopping Centre, Limerick and features a cover of Depeche Mode’s ‘Enjoy The Silence’. The album is now available now from local record stores and online at protobaby.bandcamp.com
