Dubliners Orchid Collective wowed many with their latest offering “Lay As Stone” a single with dreamy indie pop hooks and folk harmonies mixed by Stephen Dunne at Lamplight Recording.

They will officially launch the single March 11th, Upstairs Whelan’s, but first we have their thought provoking video to digest first. The video directed by Cill Farrell in London captures the mood of the single with snapshots of action telling the story and slow shots over sun set skies. The message only reveals itself at the end. The video depicts the loneliness often found in a city and the alcohol issues this has brought on. The message seems to say: “sometimes you need to hit rock bottom before you can make a change”. We don’t get to see a change but the song fills us with an over-riding sense of hope that is captured perfectly in the video.
