Tanjier have had one hell of a ride in 2016. In less than a year they have played the Cosby Tent and Oxjam Stage at Electric Picnic having beaten almost 400 odd entries to win RTÉ 2FM and Oxfam’s Play the Picnic Competition as well as other iconic venues. And just when I thought I knew what kind of synth-pop fourpiece I was dealing with they come along with a new single that blows it out of the water. “Trip” is their latest single scheduled for release October 17th from the band’s debut EP Sunrise

The band quote influences like Florence and the Machine, Jack Garrett, Bon Ivor and Bob Dylan but known for their dark and moody atmosphere they have delved into some Duran Duran on “Trip” with a video that pays homage to the 80’s era fantastical fantasy. What is real and what is imagined is a concept we have seen the band examine previously in their video work as they continue to explore themes on mental health.

Tanjier next play The Workman’s Club November 26th
