TThey have just been announced as NME Top 100 Essential Artists of 2019 and are the current ‘New Name Feature’ artist on Radio 1 ‘Future Sounds’ with Annie Mac. Now Australian duo Imbibe are set to release their new single ‘Touchdown’ on Irish shores, March 15, 2019.

Imbibe are brothers Tennyson and Holden Nobel. Born and raised in Byron Bay. the duo packed their bags in 2018 for the creative suburbs of Berlin where they’ve honed their off-centre pop sounds.

Touchdown is the second single release from Imbibe – a glistening power-pop gem, penned by the duo when they first moved to Berlin, and recorded in the UK with Grammy nominated producer Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran). “It’s a song all about human connection and being present in the moment” says singer Tennyson. “Not being swept away by all the other stuff the world asks of us”. Debut track ‘Mirage’, also produced by Hicks was also hailed by NME as “this year’s best existential jam” in 2018.

The move to Berlin has ultimately worked wonders for the boys who have capitalised on their proximity to major touring circuits, opening for fellow Aussie and Berlin-based act Parcels for a run of UK dates including a sell-out show at London’s Roundhouse.

“Imbibe split the difference, offering shimmering pop with indie sensibilities.” NME
