INDIE continues its tradition for nurturing up-and-coming talent as it reveals a host of rising acts, as well as some festival favourites to the INDIE20 lineup at Deer Farm this summer.
INDIE has long been synonymous with providing a stage for the best upcoming Irish acts and Hudson Taylor lead the way for Irish rising stars that include Belfast gaelgóir’s Kneecap, Dundalk’s Just Mustard, Northern Irish singer-songwriter Lilla Vargen and Dublin singer Orla Gartland. British singer-songwriter Tom Walker is among some of the exciting acts from across the water that also include Tom Grennan (whose new single ‘This is the Place’ is out this week), while The Lathums make their first appearance at INDIE.
These new additions join headliners Stereophonics, Sigrid and The Streets for INDIE20. Also announced for INDIE20 are Welsh-rockers and previous INDIE headliners Feeder, Irish festival favourites King Kong Company and alt-metal’s finest, Therapy? Complementing them and what is shaping up to be INDIE’s biggest ever bill to date are; The Hunna, Ryan McMullan, The Amazons, Biig Piig, Aimee, Joel Corry, Regard, Riton, The Scratch, Moncrieff, Kawala, The Sherlocks, Luz, Stephen James Smith and Alex Gough.
Following INDIE’s biggest festival to date at Deer Farm last summer, Early Bird tickets, Tier 1 and Tier 2 for INDIE20 have already sold out. INDIE20 have just released instalment tickets as well as a limited number of VIP tickets. Instalment tickets involve 3 instalments of €53, with first purchase made immediately, the 2nd payment will be taken at the end of April and the final payment at the end of May. For more information go to www.indiependencefestival.com. INDIE19 saw stunning performances from headliners Lewis Capaldi, Biffy Clyro, Catfish & the Bottlemen and Gavin James with 15,000 people descending on the picturesque Galtee Mountains site.
INDIE has grown into one of Ireland’s most successful and long-running festivals since it began life in Mitchelstown in 2006. Its move to the scenic Deer Farm just on the outskirts of the town in 2010 allowed INDIE to put itself onto the international map, attracting artists such as Manic Street Preachers, Public Enemy, Basement Jaxx, De La Soul, Tom Odell, Editors, The Dandy Warhols and much more over the years.
INDIE20 will be a strictly over-18s event and will see the addition of the new GREEN Campsite in an effort to manage the festival space better and improve the experience for all. Admission to the GREEN Campsite can be obtained after buying a standard weekend ticket and then contacting Pamper the Camper or Festi-Huts (contact details on the festival website). This will provide access to the GREEN Campsite and to the VIP Bar in the Main Arena.
